The Ritual

Mastering Application

Tretinoin is powerful. A precise, patient routine is the difference between irritation and transformation.

💧

Dry Skin Only

Never apply to damp skin. Water enhances absorption and can lead to significant irritation. Wait 20 mins after washing.

🥜

The Pea Size

More is not better. A single pea-sized amount is enough for the entire face. Dot it, then spread it.

☀️

Sunscreen Always

Tretinoin thins the outer layer of skin, making you sun-sensitive. SPF 50+ every morning is non-negotiable.

Your Evening Routine

1

Cleanse

Remove makeup and impurities with a gentle, non-stripping cleanser. Pat dry with a clean towel.

2

The Wait

Wait 20-30 minutes. Ensure your skin is completely dry to minimize the risk of “tretinoin burn.”

3

Apply

Squeeze a pea-sized amount onto your finger. Dot on forehead, cheeks, and chin. Connect the dots.

4

Moisturize

Wait 5-10 minutes for absorption, then apply a basic moisturizer to lock in hydration.

Pro Tip: The Sandwich Method

If you have sensitive skin or are a beginner, try “Sandwiching”:

  1. Layer 1: Moisturizer
  2. Layer 2: Tretinoin
  3. Layer 3: Moisturizer

This buffers the strength without stopping the results.

Application FAQ

Can I use it around my eyes? +

Avoid direct application to the eyelids or right under the lash line. However, you can apply it up to the orbital bone (the eye socket bone). The product migrates slightly under the skin, so it will treat the area without needing direct contact.

How often should I apply it? +

Week 1-2: Apply every 3rd night.
Week 3-4: Apply every 2nd night.
Month 2+: Every night, as tolerated.
If your skin gets red or stinging, skip a night and moisturize heavily.

What should I avoid mixing with it? +

Do not use other potent actives at the same time (PM). Avoid: Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid (AHA/BHA), Benzoyl Peroxide, and Vitamin C in the evening routine. Use Vitamin C in the morning instead.
